Dr. Romina Libster
Dr. Libster is a pediatrician specializing in vaccines and respiratory virus research. She serves as an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University in the United States. She completed postdoctoral studies in Translational Research in Pediatric Infectiology at the INFANT Foundation and Vaccine Studies at the Vaccine Research Program at Vanderbilt University. She also earned a master's degree in Clinical Effectiveness and studied Statistics and Modeling in Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington.
She was selected to attend the Advanced Vaccine Course (ADVAC) at Fondation Merieux in France, where she currently holds a lecturing position. She has led studies on high-impact vaccines, particularly concerning pandemic viruses such as H1N1 and the current coronavirus pandemic. Her work has significantly impacted global public health and has been published in leading medical and scientific journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Nature Medicine, and The Lancet.
Additionally, she was chosen as a mentor for the MIT program "MIT-SOLVE," an initiative promoting technological solutions to the major challenges of future cities, and she is a recognized member of the Society for Pediatric Research. She participates as an expert in vaccines and pediatric respiratory diseases on national and international scientific discussion committees, including the World Health Organization and the Thrasher Foundation.
